| Who is this for? |
To improve the quality and integrity of the MOT test, VOSA have introduced the ATL. The ATL must meet particular design and performing criteria before being permitted or suitable for use. Equipment that does not compromise performance, versatility or reliability can be expected to be justifiably expensive. If a lower cost option is pursued, check that it has an identifiable pedigree and is well supported now and for the future.

| Brake Tester |
| The brake tester is PC operated. the results are calculated and stored and the test procedure is in full compliance with the latest regulations. The brake tester can be connected to a sideslip tester, shock absorber tester and a headlight beam setter. It has the facility to produce a complete printed report. The roller unit consists of a hot dipped galvanised chassis fitted with rollers with a durable , gritted roller surface for a high friction co affiance. |
The motors are connected to the rollers via worm gears. These hold the rollers quite firm when the power is switched off and makes it easy to get the drive wheels out of the rollers. the brake force is measured with a strain gauge transducer. the roller unit is fitted with sensors detecting the presence of a wheel set on the rollers. The system ensures that the rollers do not start accidentally. A speed sensor measures the wheel speed. the point of the wheel lock can be adjusted in the software.

| Suspension Tester |
using the suspension tester provides a very good indication of the condition of the shock absorbers and the suspension in general. Positioning the wheels correctly on the measuring plates is very easy.
The test is a good and efficient method to determine the functions of the suspension and shock absorbers. |
A model of the suspension tester, analysing tyre stiffness and giving warning of too high or too low pressure is available.
The result is shown on the computerised. brake tester display and is included in the printed report.
